Protecting Our Waters Together
Dedicated to keeping our waters clean, we offer reliable pump-out services for boaters.
Our Story
The Pumpty Dumpty Services is a community partnership operated by the Saanich Inlet Clean Waters Society (SICWS) – a not-for-profit society dedicated to improving water quality within Brentwood Bay and Saanich Inlet. Saanich Inlet and the surrounding areas are the traditional territory of the W̱SÁNEĆ peoples and the Tsartlip (W̱JOȽEȽP) First Nation in Brentwood Bay – the W̱SÁNEĆ and the W̱JOȽEȽP, have looked after the Inlet for thousands of years and continue to do so through their Stewardship Department. The W̱JOȽEȽP (Tsartlip) own the pump-out boat and participate with SICWS to provide pump-out services. We have other community partners that have contributed time and resources to successful operation of Pumpty Dumpty Services.
Our Beginnings
Pumpty Dumpty began in the Bay in the early 2000s and operated until 2015, when the Butchart Gardens started operating their own pump-out boat. The Butchart pump-out boat – a vessel constructed specifically for marine holding tank collection – was later donated to the Tsartlip First Nation and now operates as Pumpty Dumpty Services.
